About project "StoneFlower3D"

Why ceramics?

Ceramics is durable, food safe, heat resistant, mechanically strong, cheap, recyclable and sustainable material that is suitable for both a prototyping and a small serial production in handicraft, art, design, and architecture.

Technology

Our printers and KITs use paste deposition technique. It allows printing at much higher speed, as compared to desktop FDM printers, which use thermoplastics. One can easily control the process choosing the nozzle diameter in the range from 1 to 7 mm. The layer thickness may vary from tiny 0.3 mm for precise printing up to 3 mm for maximal performance.

StoneFlower” 3D printer is designed as a simple, accurate, fast and versatile instrument for researchers, architects, artists, designers, and hobbyists. First version of the printer came to the market in May 2018.

Since September 2018 we sell thrid version of the full-metal StoneFlower 3D printer, equipped with advanced Duet3D electronics, colorfull touch-screen, remote control via WiFi, Igus bearings, which work in humid and dusty environment without lubrication, strong Nema23 motors, silent, power-efficient TMC drivers , providing smooth motion at high speed.

Team

Dr. Anatoly Berezkin, Dipl. Eng., PhD in Chemistry, Habil. in Physics and Mathematics, CBM.

Being a researcher at the Max-Planck Institute in Düsseldorf, Anatoly got acquainted with 3d printing of resins from viscous components in the year 2013. During his collaboration with the German company Covestro AG he published a couple of research papers about the principles of this process.

In the next few years at Technical University of Munich (TUM), he gained a hands-on experience in the development of automated research equipment, building CNC routers and 3D printers in a free time. I the year 2017 he studied Business Management, developed Ceramic 3D Printing KIT, and prepared the launch the start up around it. In StoneFlower team Anatoly is responsible for the product development, and general business management.

Stanislav Mironov, Dipl. Eng. Stanislav has graduated from Technical University of Munich, and joined the project after internship at Electro Optical Systems GmbH (one of the world leading companies in additive manufacturing). In the startup Stanislav takes care about PR, marketing, and supply chain.
